Federal employee Open Season for benefits will be from Monday, November 12, 2018-Monday, December 10, 2018. This is the time when you need to make benefit selections for the upcoming year. During this time, you can enroll, change plans or plan options, change enrollment type, or cancel enrollment for FEDVIP and FEHB programs. Also, you can enroll in the Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS).

The 2 programs that don’t participate in annual Open Season are FEGLI and FLTCIP.

This year for the first time, certain members of the uniformed services and their families will be eligible to enroll in FEDVIP coverage effective January 1, 2019. Retired uniformed service members and their families who are eligible for the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP, which ends on December 31, 2018) will be eligible for FEDVIP dental coverage, and if they are enrolled in the TRICARE health plan, will be eligible for FEDVIP vision coverage.

Family members of active duty uniformed service members who are also enrolled in the TRICARE health plan will also be eligible for FEDVIP vision coverage.

More information will be made available as the start date approaches.
